To qualify for membership of the Widows Sons you need to be a Master Mason, in good standing and a subscribing member of a regular lodge, recognised by the United Grand Lodge of England (UGLE). The WSMBA is the only motorcycling organisation formally recognised and approved by UGLE.
The Widows Sons have over 1000 members and 600 associate members across England, Wales & N. Ireland and continues to grow at a phenomenal rate since it’s establishment with 6 members in 2004.

The Merlin Chapter is an autonomous (Chapter) or group of Freemasons with a passion for motorcycling in the Province of Derbyshire, we are totally separate but associated with the Masonic Province of Derbyshire. With our own Constitutions and by-laws running along side UGLE guidelines. We are part of a wider community of Widows Sons and Freemasons spread across England, Wales & N. Ireland and indeed the rest of the world. Merlin Chapter emerged from the split up of the East Midlands Chapter in April 2023, starting with 12 members, we now have 22 members and 16 associates. Our membership comes from a wide range of professions from Student to Surgeon, Builder to Biker and every thing in-between.
